Adding video to your blog

One feature of blogger which can be easily incorporated into any blog is embedded video. Fresh Brewed is holding its grand opening. A video camera is set up at a table outside, where samples of the house blend is given away. Taster’s comments are recorded, complimentary coupons are given in exchange for permission to use their name and images on the page, and the advertisement has begun. Our tasters go online to check to see if they were chosen to be on the blog, and once they see themselves on the web, they tell their friends, send links out and next thing you know, you have a following on your blog.
To add video content to your blog, in your posting tab, go to compose, then click on the film strip icon. A window pops up- click “Browse” and find the video file on your computer, then “Upload Video.” Your video will be uploaded to your blog. Be sure to save- or you will get a lot of practice at uploading nothing! :o) To learn more, as well as how to add YouTube videos to your blog go to click here  .

Check out this video on how to resize an embedded video.

Just as there are numerous types of businesses, there are many styles of blogs. Personal blogs can range from the average person’s daily ramblings, to the poet’s verse. A company blog should be so much more. Before beginning a company blog, first ask “what is the blog going to be about?” If you do not name the subject on which you will blog, the potential to fall into the daily rambling category is great. Let’s create a fictional company for the purpose of the Blogger’s Blog. We’ll call the company Fresh Brewed in honor of one of my favorite vices- a hot cup of coffee.
Now, Fresh Brewed is going to go through many stages of development before the doors open. A blog can be utilized to communicate through various phases of starting a business. For example, you and your business partners are handling different aspects of the business, and communication between individuals is certainly vital. Meetings could be scheduled, but time is of essence here, and getting 5 partners together to hash out details can be tedious. Of course you could hold conference calls, but not all information pertains to everyone during every call, so precious time is lost. Texting is taxing, emails get lost in the shuffle, so what’s our cutting edge java shop to do? Blog it!
When a company blog is created, users can log on to see the status of each element being developed- as it happens! Need to know when the first coffee shipment will arrive? When employee training will start? What uniforms have been decide on? Check the blog!

Here is a link for first time bloggers: a video demonstration on how to get started. It really is simple to create a blog with google; only a few clicks and you are up and blogging!

In this day of fast paces, long agendas, and multi-tasking, there is great competition over the reader’s eye. Who has the time to savor the daily news over a cup of coffee and breakfast? Who searches the classifieds for employment or keeps up with Wall Street through the business page? Not many! In the era of information, businesses need an electronic edge to reach the greatest audience, while providing the most current information instantaneously: nothing can help you accomplish this better than the internet.
There are many social sites on the internet, so deemed for the interactive potential they hold, which encourage up to the minute information, asking questions such as, “What are you doing?” and “What is on your mind?” While these sites are geared for more personal interaction, there is the potential for the business world to develop them as profitable tools. Here on the blogger’s blog, we will take a closer look at blogging as an over-looked business tool, and how to make the company blog work for you.
